BEGINNING NOVENA PRAYER
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen

My most beloved Protector, Saint Anthony! Here I am, at your feet, fully confident in your powerful intercession. Look at me with that spirit of sweet and tender compassion with which you looked at the poor. Poor am I, my Holy Saint! I see myself full of misery. Life for me is a continuous struggle. Bread of happiness, of joy, health, peace, virtue ... how much I need and how much I hope for your loving protection! Grant it to me, I ask you humbly, so that your name of miracle worker may again be glorified. I believe in your power, I wait for your goodness, I love your heart as a father and I bless Our Lord, who made you great on earth and in heaven. Amen.

Meditate on the reflexion for today.

DAY 9

Saint Anthony, protector of all who suffer.

Each and every suffering, in any of its manifestations; the pain of sin, the loss of health, the lack of resources, the unjust persecutions, the absence of peace, the deepest preocupations, the enormous sadness ... so much can pin down the soul ... all these and more were the motive of Saint Anthony's compassion; it was the material of his miracles, the bulls' eye of his mercy ... What hid or hides from his compassionate heart? Let us recourse then to him, with most vivifying confidence.
(Mention your intention and pray three Glories to the Most Holy Trinity; recite one Responsitory and then the final prayer, both below)

RESPONSITORY

O admirable Saint Anthony, glorious for the celebrity of the miracles that you have worked, who had the bliss of having in your arms the Lord in the form of a tender infant, obtain for me from His goodness the grace that I ardently wish in the most intimate recesses of my heart.

You, who were so kind and giving with poor sinners, do not look at the sins of those who plead to you now, but instead at the glory of God, which will be exalted once more by you, and to the salvation of my soul, so united to the petition that I now urgently desire from the intimate recesses of my heart.

As a garment of my gratitude, I promise to carry on a life that is more in conformity with the teachings of the Gospel, and consecrated to the succor of the poor, whom you have loved so much and love today. Bless this promise that I make to you and reach for me the grace of being faithful to her until death.

ENDING NOVENA PRAYER

O astral body of Spain, Pearl of poverty, Anthony, Father of science, Example of purity, Light of Italy, Doctor of the Truth, Sun of Padua resplendent in signs of clarity. Amen.

V. Illustrious Preacher, pray for us, most blessed Anthony.
R. So that through your intercession we may attain the joys of life.

ORATION. Make glad, Lord, your Church, the devout and humble prayer of the glorious Saint Anthony, your servant; so that we may always be succored in this life with the aid of grace and deserve to later obtain the eternal joys of glory; through Our Lord Jesus Christ, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen

OUR FATHER

Our Father, Who Art In Heaven
Hallowed Be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
Liberate us from all temptation[*]
And deliver us from all evil. Amen

[*] Liberate us is in keeping with the original Latin text.
       God usually does not "lead us" to temptation
       (unless we are tested),
       but gives us the grace to overcome and/or resist it
X
HAIL MARY

Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art though among women,
And blessed is the fruit
Of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mary of God
Pray for us sinners
Now, and in the hour
Of our death. Amen

X
APOSTLE'S CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty Creator of Heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His Only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the
[work and grace of the] Holy Ghost,[*]
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into the Dead.[**]
On the third day, He rose again;
He ascended into Heaven,
And sits at the right hand of God,
the Father Almighty.
From thence he shall come to judge
the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost,[*]
The Holy Catholic Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins.
The resurrection of the body,
And life everlasting. Amen

[*] Holy Ghost: may be substituted with the current Holy Spirit.
[**] the Dead: "inferi", the underworld or the dead in Latin.
X
GLORIA

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost[*],
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

[*] Holy Ghost: may be substituted with the current Holy Spirit.
X
DE PROFUNDIS

Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord:
Lord, hear my voice.
Let Thine ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplication.

If thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities:
Lord, who shall abide it.
For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness:
and because of Thy law,
I have waited for Thee, O Lord.

My soul hath waited on His word:
my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning-watch even until night,
let Israel hope in the Lord.

For with the Lord there is mercy:
and with Him plenteous redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel
from all her iniquities.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost[*],
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

[*] Holy Ghost: may be substituted with the current Holy Spirit.

"Requiem aeternam" (Eternal Rest) three times a day.
Pope Leo XIII, February 3, 1888)

Let us pray:
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all
the faithful, we beseech Thee to grant
to the souls of Thy servants the remission
of their sins, so that by our prayers
they may obtain pardon for which they long.
O Lord, who lives and reigns,
world without end. Amen

May they rest in peace. Amen

CERRAR
SIGUIENTE
PADRE NUESTRO

Padre Nuestro,
que estas en los Cielos
Santificado sea Tu Nombre;
Venga a nosotros tu Reino;
Hágase Tu Voluntad
en la tierra como en el cielo.
Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día;
Perdona nuestras ofensas,
Como también nosotros
perdonamos a los que nos ofenden,
No nos dejes caer en la tentación,
y líbranos del mal. Amén

AVE MARÍA

Dios te salve, María,
llena eres de gracia;
El Señor es Contigo;
Bendita Tú eres
entre todas las mujeres,
Y bendito es el fruto
De tu vientre, Jesús.

Santa María,
Madre de Dios,
Ruega por nosotros
pecadores,
Ahora y en la hora
De nuestra muerte.
Amén

CERRAR
CREDO

Creo en Dios, Padre Todopoderoso,
Creador del cielo y de la tierra.
Creo en Jesucristo,
Su único Hijo, Nuestro Señor,
Que fue concebido por obra
y gracia del Espíritu Santo,
Nació de la Santa María Virgen;

escucha mi voz;
Estén Tus oidos atentos
a la voz de mi súplica.

Si llevas cuenta de los delitos, Señor,
¿quién podrá resistir?
Pero de ti procede el perdón,
y así infundes respeto.
Mi alma espera en el Señor.

Espera en su palabra;
mi alma aguarda al Señor,
más que el centinela la aurora.
Aguarda Israel al Señor.

Como el centinela la aurora;
porque del Señor viene la misericordia.
la redención copiosa;
y Él redimirá a Israel de todos sus delitos.

Gloria al Padre, al Hijo y al
Espíritu Santo,
como es desde el principio,
es ahora y será por los siglos de los siglos.
Amén
