Help me, O Lord, to be merciful.

Help me, O Lord, that my eyes be merciful, so that I never envy or judge according to appearances, but instead seek the beauty in the soul of my neighbor and respond to help him or her.

Help me, O Lord, that my ears be merciful, so that I take into account the needs of my neighbor and I am not indifferent to his or her pains and laments.

Help me, O Lord, that my tongue be merciful, so that I never speak negatively of my neighbor, but instead have a word of consolation and pardon for all.

Help me, O Lord, that my hands be merciful and full of good deeds, so that I know only how to do good for my neighbor and to carry out the most difficult and laborious tasks.

Help me, O Lord, that my feet be merciful, so that I always hurry to succor my neighbor, overcoming my own fatigue and tiredness. My true repose is in the service to my neighbor.

Help me, O Lord, that my heart be merficul, so that I feel all the sufferings of my neighbor. I will not deny my heart to anyone. I will be sincere, including to those who I know took advantage of my goodness. And I will enclose myself in the Merciful Heart of Jesus. I will endure my own sufferings in silence. May your mercy, Oh Lord, rest inside me.

R. For this reason I will sing the Mercies of God forever.

Let us pray

O Eternal God, in whom mercy is infinite and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, turn to us Your benevolent glance and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we do not despair nor become disheartened, but instead with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Divine Mercy themselves.
Amen (Diary 950)

O incomprehensive and infinite Divine Mercy, Who can adore You like you deserve? Supreme attribute of God Omnipotent, you are the sweet hope of the sinner. Unite stars, sea and earth into a single hymn and sing as a choir with your best voice the Divine Mercy, whose understanding is beyond our reach.
Amen (Diary 951)

In the 1930s, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, a young, uneducated nun, received extraordinary revelations from our Lord Jesus regarding God's loving message of Divine Mercy. The Feast of Divine Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday) is on the Sunday after Easter; www.thedivinemercy.org
The Litanies to the Divine Mercy composed by Sister Faustina, referred to here, are in truth, invocations that appear in paragraph 949 of her Diary. On the basis of these invocations, Father M. Sopocko wrote the Litanies, correcting some and adding more than ten new ones, according to a note regarding this matter, included by the editors of the Diary. We know that Sister Faustina read these litanies in print, as documented in paragraphs 1255 and 1379 of the Diary; casitadeladivinamisericordia.org

Ed. Note: conforming to the original meaning, each line in the body of the work is called a Litany; the set of lines are thus Litanies.
